Pregnancy can be an overwhelming time, with the pressure to do everything right for the health of your growing baby.
Our pregnancy program welcomes pregnant people to share their concerns and connect with other parents and resources in their community.
We provide a safe place to explore and learn.
We spend part of each drop-in group discussing a featured topic like labour, prenatal nutrition, preparing to breastfeed, discomforts during pregnancy and stressors. You’d be amazed at how many parents find comfort in simply talking to other parents-to-be!
Nurses, outreach workers and dietitians are also available throughout the session to provide group and one-on-one support.
We end each group with a delicious and healthy snack, complete with nutrition tips and cooking advice. We provide participants with recipes, the chance to purchase meal bags for $2.00, food coupons (if needed) and bus tickets (if eligible).
Parents-to-be with older kids (ages 1-5) are welcome to bring them along to be cared for by our responsible child-minding volunteers.
