What has changed for Healthy Start during COVID?
Instead of groups in the community, we offer virtual groups. Our outreach workers and dietitians are here to answer your questions and connect you with other community resources. Please call 204-949-5350 or email email@example.com.
Is there a cost to attend groups?
There is no cost to attend our groups. They are completely free.
What should I expect when I attend a group?
We offer a warm, inviting environment for you to learn pregnancy & parenting information. We have an outreach worker, public health nurse and dietitian available to answer your questions. We also offer a healthy snack, food demonstrations and provide milk & egg coupons (if needed).
What age do you have to be to attend a group?
All ages are welcome.
How often do groups take place?
Once every two weeks (about two times per month).
When can I attend?
At any point during your pregnancy or before your child turns one, we welcome you to attend a group.
Do I need to register ahead of time?
There is no need to register. Simply join us at one of our groups.
What I.D. or paperwork do I need to bring?
Please bring your Manitoba Health card.
Can my partner come with me?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your partner or a support person along with you.
Can dads attend with their babies?
Yes, dads can attend with their babies and with or without their partner.
I have other children. Can I bring them along?
Yes, if you have other children aged 1-5 years old, we provide childminding (space is limited).
