Pregnancy can be an overwhelming time, with the pressure to do everything right for the health of your growing baby.
Our pregnancy program welcomes pregnant people to talk, share their concerns and connect to both other parents and community resources in hopes that together we will give all babies a healthy start.
Together, we find healthy solutions to common problems and provide a safe place to explore and learn.
We spend part of each group discussing a featured topic like labour, prenatal nutrition and preparing to breastfeed, discomforts during pregnancy and stressors, including lifestyle choices. You’d be amazed at how many parents find comfort in simply talking to other parents-to-be!
Nurses, outreach workers and dietitians are also available throughout the session to provide group and one-on-one support.
We end each group with a delicious and healthy snack, complete with nutrition tips and cooking advice. We provide participants with recipes, the chance to purchase meal bags for $1.50 and food coupons.
The best part? We make getting – and staying – here easy.
Parents-to-be with older kids (ages 1-5) are welcome to bring them along to be entertained by our caring, responsible child-minding volunteers. We also give bus tickets to those who are eligible.
